The Bay of Islands is located in Northland,
three hours drive north of Auckland. Consisting of 144 islands serviced by three
picturesque towns, Kerikeri, Opua and Paihia, where you can catch a short car
ferry to the historic town of Russell. Paihia is also the base for the many
tourist boating companies that offer various excursions, from sightseeing and
fishing charters, to swimming with Dolphins.
