The main town of the Coromandel
Peninsula is Whitianga. Located on the shores of Mercury Bay a
spectacular coastline dotted with islands and sheltered
waters, perfect for all water sports. Must see - Hot Water
Beach - for two hours either side of low tide, visitors can
dig themselves into the sand and enjoy the hot spring waters. |

Tongariro National park,
Rotorua and Lake Taupo.

The township of Taupo is located
on the largest lake in New Zealand. The trout in Lake Taupo
are legendary for their size, condition and attitude. The
Tongariro River at the Southern end of Lake Taupo is one of
the best trout rivers in the world. Must see - At the southern
end of the lake, Tongariro World Heritage National Park
contains three magnificent volcanoes - Mt Ruapehu, Mt
Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe plus two ski fields. |
